Bringing people and culture together
History
The Cumming-Forsyth Arts Council was created in December 2007 to meet the number one need for moving the arts forward in the Cumming-Forsyth County community and to assist in offering events and programs for the community.
Out of a passion for the arts a steering committee was formed that grew to include leaders from the existing nonprofit arts organizations in the community—music, dance, drama, visual arts and literary arts. Thanks to their dedication and hard work the CFAC officially incorporated in December 2007.
Today, there is great excitement in the arts community!
As a non-profit arts organization, the CFAC will be able to create its own events and programs to assist Forsyth County in making our community
a more desirable place to live, thrive and retire.
The council will serve as the leadership organization for the arts in the Forsyth County area by supporting its member organizations in promoting artistic opportunities; by providing support, and fostering coordinated cultural planning; by offering programs to educate and develop future audiences; by providing forums of expression for local artists; and by advocating for the arts.
